Art is the Game – Privacy Policy
Art is the Game ("we", "us", "our") operates this mobile app and related services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information in compliance with Canadian law (PIPEDA) and Apple's App Store privacy guidelines. We are a Nova Scotia, Canada-based developer (business number and DUNS on record) and have appointed a Privacy Officer to oversee compliance.
Information We Collect
We collect personal information you provide (e.g. name, email address, any drawings or submissions) and usage data (device type, app usage, IP address) necessary for app functionality. We minimize data collection to what is relevant to core features. For example, email addresses are collected only if you opt in to our optional newsletter; this is entirely voluntary. We use standard web/app tools (cookies, analytics SDKs) to improve the App, but we do not collect sensitive health or financial data.
How We Use Information
We use personal information to operate the App (e.g. save your progress), improve user experience, send optional updates (newsletter), and for internal analytics. We obtain explicit consent for uses beyond these purposes. We never use personal data for undisclosed purposes.
Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share data with third-party service providers (e.g. cloud hosting, analytics, payment processors) only as needed to deliver the App. We require all such third parties to protect your data as strictly as we do. We may also disclose information to comply with legal obligations. Our App is not intended for young children: we comply with applicable children's privacy laws (e.g. COPPA) for any data from minors.
Consent and Choices
By using the App, you consent to this Policy. You can withdraw consent at any time (for example, by unsubscribing from emails). We never make payment or features conditional on providing personal data. You may request deletion of your data or revoke consents at any time.
Data Retention and Security
We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, or as required by law. When data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it. We implement appropriate security measures (encryption, access controls, staff training) to safeguard data.
Cross-Border Transfers
Your information may be stored and processed in Canada or other countries. If transferred across borders, we require that data remain protected under standards comparable to Canadian privacy laws. Please note foreign jurisdictions may have different privacy protections.
Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information as provided under PIPEDA. You may make such requests to our Privacy Officer at the contact below. We will respond within a reasonable time (typically 30 days).
Complaints
If you have any concerns about our privacy practices, please contact our Privacy Officer. If an issue is not resolved to your satisfaction, you have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) or the Nova Scotia Information and Privacy Commissioner.
